Salvatore Thomas DiFrancesca III, a former newspaper columnist and a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, was raised by a roving band of gypsies who crisscrossed America throughout his entire childhood. After having been born in Miami, Florida in early 1959, it wasn't long before he found himself living in far off Fairbanks, Alaska–after having made the entire trip by car. Apparently, those first few years of his life were but just a brief glimpse of what his future held in store for him. To tell you the truth, Tom was not raised by gypsies, but instead by a military family, but apparently, there is gypsy blood running through his veins, anyway.
